Anyone got a Miele S5261 Motor?
« on: June 16, 2016, 04:09:10 PM »
As the title suggests, I came by a Miele S5261.

Its an abandoned repair. It needs a motor, and new ones are quite strong money.

Its quite clean so if I can get a reasonably priced motor, its worth doing.

Anyone got one or know what else fits?

I'm sure George was flogging one recently, I've nudged him via facebook.

What's wrong with this one? Is the motor physically exploded or is the fan full of shite?

As I recall, it was just diagnosed as needing a motor by our chap. We have had it months so detail is a bit sparse.

My S5510 'needed a new motor' when I first got it, the bearings were shot (QUABRG20's) and the fan was full of crap.

Plug it in, does it run?

Mine sounded like this when I first had it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mWWlrJNBww is the missing 'invalid youtube link' video of before. Still running fine to this day, it had 55 minutes of hardcore use last night cleaning up foil confetti after Eva's 4th birthday party

It runs, but is howling like bearings and bubbling. Sounds like it wants a motor to me.

Ah, bubbling is bad news then.

Scour ebay for a scrapper with a good motor is the best bet. Anything within 10 miles of OX9 3XZ and SL7 1TB is collectable for me and I'll psot the motor up

I've decided to bung it on eBay on a fast auction to clear it. If anyone wants it, it is here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331884463544

Shame,  it looks damn tidy, but the motor will cost about what you could sell it for top end! Madrat not got one? I had one off him a while back that would have been the perfect donor,  but I gave it to someone to vac out their fleet of rover sterlings on autoshite
