I'm shocked as well tbh,  the beginning of the end?

Would I buy one for a tenner in a few years,  of course!

I'll admit I usually give Miele a little too much credit. And I am usually very confident in their products as they are always my (and my family's) stand by cleaners.

So, I'd really like to believe that they did their homework on this one, and this is the best solution according to their design philosophy, but seeing a pleated filter on a premium German bagless vacuum is a bit worrying. I do understand the decision to use a single cyclone, I've noticed they can move a lot more air compared to multicyclonic machines.

Hopefully the vacuum store near my home that I used to work for will get them in. I'll report back once I've had a play. Of course only time will tell if this system works well.

Being a Miele it probably is good quality and may work good but I think it looks aesthetically ugly (sort of) and it hardly looks like a vacuum without the hose and wand/flortool :|
DC14s are tanks, just need a slightly longer motor life. Do plastic parts often break on DC14s? Nope. DC41- Sexy looking futuristic and powerful machine. Just needs a better designed cleaner head wheel and cyclone clip along with a dense metal rod in the chassis.

Tbh I actually kinda like the way it looks.

Sorry about that website, they are really terrible with ads but it was the best info I could find for this originally.

Here is Miele's official press release with more info:
