DC15 Animal
« on: November 20, 2017, 09:31:50 PM »
Hi all Dyson lovers
Can you help me, I am trying to replace the On/Off power switch. I purchased a replacement switch but the spade connectors are to wide to fit the existing connectors, although it was advertised as above the switch is identical to the roller switch control.
Can any one suggest how i can get round this problem?

You may be able to "stretch the spade connectors over".Just use a hook tool or mini flat head to widen up the connectors to fit the switch ones.Should be fine if you do it right.

The "LAZY" way to do this job is to fit the correct switch.
Don't create more work, and if it ever fails in future the next owner etc will probably try to fit the correct switch - then your ears will be burning.....  ;D
If it was assembled it can be disassembled - if we can't repair it then it probably isn't worth repairing !

I'm in the stretch the spades camp! If in 14 years the switch goes again and someone puts a genuine one on they can just squeeze the crimps back!
