Revolutiion 5000 overheat light on permanently
« on: October 11, 2019, 10:23:53 AM »
Hi - first post. Revolution 5000 with 742 motor. As soon as I touch handle buttons red light comes on, reset and touch a button and happens again so motor does not run.  Vacuum cold, not used for days. Removed motor but how do I bench test?  There are 3 wires, brown, black , blue. I will use spade connectors but which wires are live and neutral . Any one know that and if I have wrong idea and its a handle fault rather than motor? thanks

Brown will be live, black or blue neutral. Try blue first as brown as live and blue as neutral are standard European wiring codes.

Before you go looking at the motor, have you had the ends of the hose apart and cleaned up and re-seated the floating contacts? My Revolution 5000 came to me unusable as any slight movement on the hose cut it out, and even now after a full refurb and 3 weeks of use I've had to have it apart t re-bend the contacts...
