Hello,

Any advice appreciated.

The brush bar on my DC59 spins for a second then stops. It will do this on each press of the trigger. It's just the brush that stops, not the suction. i.e. works fine with nozzle attachment.

Cleaned it all out, checked no blockages and taken the brush out, made sure no hair or strands.

I've taken the clear bin off and checked and cleaned the contacts with a dry cotton but and tested it without the wand and it does the same when connected direct.

The unit needs stripping down properly and cleaning. I think Beko did a how to video he may wish to link on the topic.

BINGO! Great video. Solved. The problem was EXACTLY as the video with hair / fluff behind the drive head.

I've had 3 in this weekend with the same issues, it's nuts! I think their all getting to 'that' age, the same age that kills DC25 Brushroll motors.

A top tip I found is the actual bearing in the V6 head is the same bearing used in the Clutches! Had one with the hair burnt into the ball bearing itself so changed it out.

Beko thank you so much for this video - a massive help

Although, when I took mine apart, down to the motor, popped it out and everything you did - it's still not rotating freely. I can't seem to detatch the motor to allow me to remove the tread...

I've started to put it back together but this video shows what I mean...

The Dyson works fine without the motorhead attached - when it is attached and you turn it on this happens
