onto side change over assy - is the main gasket fitted to the removeable inspection piece, and the change over assy has a rubber gasket on the underside - make sure that is still there.
I would use automotive silicone spray on moving plastics and gaskets myself, not baby oil.

Had the latter missing before on a (dc14, same as 33 07 etc) which causes that.

Must be change over assy / gasket if you are getting full suction on the wand.

Some clutches can be dodgy, they work brilliant one moment and then suddenly the brush stops grooming (check the brush doesn't stop spinning easily by placing your hand under a rug with the dyson brushbar on top)
I had a brand new Dyson clutch in one of mine. Was grooming carpets brilliant one minute, then suddenly it wasn't!

Is the issue more to do with the grooming or suction tho? Can't think of anything other than checking the pivoting head is sealed flat against the floor and that the internal hose blocked with your hand activates the suction relief valve
DC14s are tanks, just need a slightly longer motor life. Do plastic parts often break on DC14s? Nope. DC41- Sexy looking futuristic and powerful machine. Just needs a better designed cleaner head wheel and cyclone clip along with a dense metal rod in the chassis.

Nobody has got the bottom hose right yet. We use only the genuine ones.
