DC20 Animal Stowaway - Replacement Cyclone Assembly
« on: December 17, 2020, 10:11:17 AM »

Years ago I replaced the cyclone assembly due to wet dog smell (part ordered from Dyson's website at the time).
I'm going to have to replace it again as some fool vacuumed something damp so the horrible wet dog smell is back whenever it's used. All attempts to sanitise it haven't helped.

However, I can't seem to find the gold cyclone assembly part in stock anywhere anymore. Is there an alternative that will fit like the blue 910885-22? Would that be identical except for the colour. Don't mind a different colour as long as it works the same.

Many thanks.

Much appreciated that this expert forum exists.

You could consider stripping the cyclone down and washing it all, itís a cheaper way round it, but only if youíre confident enough to do it. I would suggest replacing the filters at the same time as they will harbour any nasty smells too. Alternatively our friends at Manchester Vacs may have a new or fully sanitised and scent-free cyclone unit available?

Yes, strip it down, clean it and it'll be swell.  :icon_nod:
