Dc40 wouldn't turn of on the switch opened the casing up to find the switch burnt out, is this a usual thing iv replaced the switch and seems fine just worried about any underlying issues which caused it? Thanks

Probably just down to bad switch contacts, most of the dyson vacs used same switch.
Seen many burn out in the past, just use the vac as normal.
