V7 motorhead has become intermittent
« on: March 11, 2021, 12:57:50 PM »
Have a V7 motorhead serial no TS1 UK KBR3429A, bought May 2018.  Main cyclone unit is cleaned out and working OK, but motorhead is still intermittent / pulsing.  Basic disassembly and cleaning as per Dyson troubleshooting has not solved the problem. The motor can be turned and runs with the roller removed.

Any further suggestions? I looked at your V6 head maintenance video but this is different, do you have an equivalent for the V7?   Also looking up spares on this site, the serial number isn't recognised.

The head will want stripping down (properly with a screwdriver) and the hair from the spindles inside removing. They all clog up there.

Disassembled as per this video but which are the spindles you are referring to? I don't see any visible clogging at this point.  The pair of screws on the motor don't seem to release anything further unless there is another hidden somewhere?

Is the machine pulsing or is the head intermittent?

The machine was pulsing with the the head on, but running normally without it. Seems OK now after dismantling the head and cleaning everything I could see.
