DC44 Cleaner Head Compatability?
« on: June 24, 2021, 09:05:56 AM »
I'm trying to source a replacement cleaner head for a DC44. Can anyone tell me which other models use the same fitting please? Possibly the DC35 or the DC58?
There are plenty of compatible heads shown for these, but nothing I can find for a DC44?
All suggestions welcome.

I think 44 and 45 are the same one but they differ to 30-35. Q used to do TLS319 for them but seem to have none now.

Thanks. I bought a turbine driven head from Q (TLS314) but it turns out to be unfit for purpose (the airflow does not drive the brushroll at all, which is not surprising, as there is no turbine system in it at all, no belt drive, with the brushroll just expected to spin in the airflow), so that will be going back.

I'd not seen those. Are they any good on a bigger machine? Can you try it on a DC25 or DC08 or something?

I tried it on a DC25: but the brushroll still didn't spin. I can see no lever on it to switch the airflow on or off, despite the packaging stating that there is. Either it was faulty or it just doesn't work. Do Q actually test this stuff before they purchase it?
There is no turbine/belt drive to actually spin the brushroll, just two slots in the lower part to apply suction to one edge of the brushroll to turn it. I can't ever see that working. Other than that, it seems quite well designed and built for £12.65...
I sent it straight back for a refund in a fit of pique.

Quality control isn't what it was there. Lets say that.

Iíve no experience of this tool that you speak of, but if thereís no turbine, the chances are, the brushroll creates its own turbine. When you lay it on the floor, the seal with the floor starts the brush spinning. It only really works on hard floor though, itís quite useless on carpets. Thatís if it is the same as similar tools Iíve had experience of
