A little help!
« on: September 30, 2021, 07:30:43 pm »
I got myself a DC19 for repair today. I noticed that a piece of the chassis has come loose(but not broken off) Is they anyway to fix it?

First time fixing Dysons so just wanted to know if it's fixable.

Thanks.

Hi. Often this is possible, depending on where the break is. Can you share a photo of the broken piece? That would help.
Many thanks

It came out of place then I put it back into place then checked to see if it went back but no.

That’s fairly common. That piece does come off. It will clip back on. Unless of course, the clips have snapped off. The machine will function perfectly fine without it if you aren’t precious about it- it’s really there to absorb bashes against furniture legs etc.

So there's nothing to worry about?

Is it possible to remove it and fit it back on?

Or if not then buy a new one and see if it fits in place and doesn't move?

I don’t know if that piece was ever made as a spare part. I’ve never needed to order one. You might be able to find a used one from a machine someone has broken up though
