On our 3rd Dyson, one 14 and two 28s!
« on: March 07, 2012, 04:39:29 PM »
Just bought a 3rd Dyson, (2nd DC28), we go through 'em fast! We vacuum at least once daily, mostly twice. We look after
three Irish Wolfhounds and their hair/fur is throughout the house. Anyone want to buy some hair? Anyway, the motor went
out on the first DC28, I'm fairly handy with ye old toolbox and want to swap a new motor in. I am disassembling the unit,
but need to know how to get the belt cover off the beaterbar assembly without breaking it. Suggestions are welcome. Secondly,
I ordered a new power switch/cover/button assembly, and unlike me, forgot to write down the wiring on the power switch. Facing
the unit from the front, which position is the white wire, (Seems like the left one), the other being the black spade connector would
be the opposite? Or, does it not matter? Thanks, nothing will clean up this hairy house like a Dyson. Believe me, we tried others,
a smoked a few trying, the competitors last about a week.
Thanks,
Bob

You guys have black and white wires in the US. We have blue and brown.

Which wire is live there? I think you call it the "hot" wire. How many wires of what colours do you have and how many switch terminals?
