Those of you in the Dyson reconditioning business will have been pained for several years because DC14 top collars and clips in all colours were listed obsolete ages ago!

Its a pretty sad state of affairs when Dyson make obsolete parts for such a new machine as a DC14. The *only* reason for this is because they want to sell you a new - later design - wand.

So just because you need a top clip or collar, you must buy a whole new wand? That's a pretty funny gag if you are Dyson. But, for after sellers, buying a new wand removes the profit margin.

However, for those that serve the after-market, help is now at hand. Take a look at this:

Yup, a brand new after-market DC14 top wand collar together with the retaining clip.

These will be available in the next few weeks.

We were privileged to be asked to take a look at these a few months ago as a "maybe" prototype by the MD of one of the UK's biggest parts manufacturers. We suggested adding the - also obsolete - retaining clip. We even supplied an old one they could work from. Today, we got the last stage prototype to test on a DC14 wand and they fit very well.

Originals were made in many colours. As you can see from the photo, they will come in dark steel so they compliment any DC14 machine.

We will get them first. So don't throw those old DC14 wands away guys!

If you are in the trade and want a deal on a batch of these as soon as they come in, take a look at >>this topic<< and come and talk to us.

It is for all DC14's that have that end fitted.

DC14's have two types of wands fitted, here is a pic.

If yours looks like the one on the left arrowed in pink (colour doesn't matter), this part will fit your machine. If your wand is like the one on the right; it wont.

We will have these on our DC14 parts page as well, as soon as we get them in.

Are these not available for US shipping? I can't find them on parts page. Also, can you tell me how to put the forward lock back on. It fell off and not sure how it goes.

Yes, we'll send them to the US. It seems I haven't gotten round to putting them on the US page yet. I thought I had done that.  :-X

If you want to order one from the US, you can do so from our eBay page >>here<< till I get chance to do it.

What do you mean by forward lock Tammy?

Edit: These are now available on our site for worldwide shipping >>here<<

I think it the part labeled 17 on the diagram for the dc 14. It has a spring on top of it.

I wanted to update this topic.

These will also fit the later Dyson wand type, but you have to do some work to make it fit. We will shortly be posting a short tutorial on how to make these fit a later Dyson DC14 wand.

Which is now here: DC14: Replacing the top wand collar (early types and the later red type).
