DC17 No power to the brush motor.
« on: March 30, 2013, 03:37:41 AM »
I have our DC17 greatly disassembled. The issue is that the brush motor will not run. I have verified that there is indeed 120 vac power coming out of the reset overload switch up inside the handle however, there is no power reaching the brush motor. I have had the brush motor out of the unit and connected to 120vac independably outside of the machine and the motor runs fine. Where do I go from here?

The white and black wire from the brush motor goes up into the plastic housing and disappears. The wires coming down from the top however, are in a three conductor (Black, White and red harness).

The question I have is "where inside of the motor housing do the two wiring groups meet and is there a circuit that could be bad or a reset somewhere in there?

Time is of the essence as my wife wants her living room table back! (As well as the vacuum Fixed, we have people coming for Easter)!

Thanks, Eric
