If I want to fit a moving soleplate to one that had a fixed soleplate what else needs to be changed?

Bottom motor housing and cleaner head. And the motor housing must be a compatible one with the motor that is fitted; which can be one of two.

Also, some fixed ones have differing wands and back hoses, that don't always interchange happily with later ones. And the plastics often don't match.

We generally don't bother doing that conversion as it can be a pain putting the bits together. Unless you happen to have a suitable donor machine. If the fixed plate machine has a YDK motor in it, that is worth more than the profit will be on a finished machine. Hence why we break fixed soleplate models for parts.

Yes it is a YDK, I will just sell the parts I think as it needs new wand and soleplate,  everything else is fine so it will help keep another one going.

If its a YDK motor that runs nice and doesn't spark, stick it on eBay for something like £20-£25 delivered (collect+ not Post Office will save you money) on a 30 day buy it now listing.

They are like hens teeth now.

If you are local to us, I'll happily tip a tenner up for one or swap you something else you need, etc.

We can't get enough of those DC01 YDK's in good condition.
