I previously owned a DC37, swapped it for a Miele, and then decided to come back to Dyson and got a DC78, but something's been worrying me a bit. Without any brushes attached to the end of the wand, the suction is really strong when it's on. However, when I attached a brush and put my hand along the brush, the suction seems to be really weak.
I called Dyson and they explained that it's because the brush is wide so the suction is spread across the entire width, and that when you put the brush on the ground it creates a seal and the suction becomes stronger. This all makes sense to me and I figured out as much on my own, but I don't remember having this experience with the DC37.
Is this pretty normal and does everyone experience this with their Dyson?
