Well, I'm kind of surprised you used a Blue flame on plastic, even a Yellow flame would have been dodgy... Although I'd expect carbon staining from a yellow flame (black marks) The blowtorch is exactly why you ended up melting it. A heatgun is just hot air, no fire at all, same for hair dryers but I don't think a hair dryer would be hot enough... One way to find out though!

I know, rusty but I was moving the flame around instead of leaving it in one spot
