I own a Sebo Felix (1300w) that has performed flawlessly since being purchased new 15 years ago.
Yesterday, the cleaning head stopped working: the lights flashed and it worked intermittently for a few times and then died.
The vacuum motor is working fine and there is good suction, but the cleaning head is 'dead'. The power connector to the cleaning head has about 12v ac on it when the vacuum motor is running. As the cleaning head appears to have a 230v ac motor, I would assume that there should be 230v ac on this connector. In a post elsewhere on this site (titled 'Felix - Vogue') I saw a photo of a PCB that appears to be just above this connector where the hose plugs into the main unit below the bag. It was suggested that this PCB controls power to the cleaning head. This area has a cover over it, but how does one remove that cover (I have removed the self-tapping screw by the connector, but the cover is still fixed). I am reluctant to start removing screws randomly.
Questions:
1. Am I on the right lines: is the likely problem a lack of 230v power to cleaning head?
2. Is this small PCB (just above the connector on the main unit) a likely suspect?
3. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
4. Are there any service manuals and circuit diagrams available anywhere.
I have a background as an electronics/electrical engineer, so I am capable of fixing something if I know how it works and can identify the problem.
Thanks for your help.
