Vax MachAir UCA11GEV1 - dirt going into filter housing
« on: September 16, 2022, 04:50:23 pm »
Hi all, thanks for the great forum, it's helped me out a number of times over the years. I have a Vax MachAir UCA11GEV1 that's been given to me due to no suction.  I sorted that out (hose completely blocked end to end and filthy filters) but now whenever it's used the dirt is getting sucked up into the top filter housing instead of going into the bin.  I've completely stripped and cleaned the cyclone assembly but no luck.  Any ideas on fixing this?

Back with an update in case anyone else has the same issue.  There turned out to be a missing seal on the base of the cyclone unit which probably got knocked off at some point when the bin was emptied.  Vax say it's not available as a spare part but I managed to get a second hand cyclone unit on ebay and swap the seal over. Mr Vacuum is happy again!

Good of you to come back and document the issue to help others in the future.
