best epoxy for plastic repairs
« on: November 02, 2022, 04:36:20 pm »
I've got an ever growing number of mainly dysons at the back of the workshop that have various plastic breaks, chunks snapped off etc & was wondering if anyone has a favourite epoxy they use. I have everyhing from snapped off lugs to snapped chassis that make the hoover list sideways, so my question is A- should I even bother trying to glue them back together and B- should I spend out on expensive epoxy like gorilla brand or are they pretty much all the same? thanks in advance

We use Evo Stick Pipe Weld for mating faces. We use Araldite or a hot glue gun for other types of repairs.

Another vote for Pipe Weld.
The problem with Dyson plastics is that they do eventually seem to degrade under UV light and become very brittle. If you've got an old DC01 or DC04 that's not been stored in a dark cupboard then this effect is usually visible.

top idea, I never even considered pipe weld & I have a good sized pot of it somewhere too, thanks for that.
