Sticky floor tool on cylinder vacs
« on: December 16, 2022, 12:05:24 pm »
This is mainly relating to hoover pull alongs like breeze, spritz, whirlwind etc but also other brands when the floor tool is anything from difficult to nearly impossible to push across the carpet. I was wondering if anyone has a general trick for fixing this, I've tried stripping the floor tools down & they all seem ok, nothing obvious. The carpet used is medium-low pile and some of them glide over it just fine. Opening the air vent makes it slightly better but not fixed. Any thoughts appreciated

Some people drill a small hole somewhere, which is only emulating an air vent really. It's a bit Heath Robinson, but it'll work.

The wheels under cleaner heads often seize up, which makes them hard to push.

More often than not though, it's poor design that causes this. Why we sell Sebos.  :icon_nod:

I'll have a go at a mod and let you know if it works. I have an X4 at the back of the shed with a floppy bottom i'm planning to have a go at if I get bored over Christmas
