VR81: how to strip?

We have a VR81 with a damaged cable. I managed to strip it part way. Then I got stuck. I searched this
Forum but cannot find a post "strip VR81".  Please is there another model that is sufficiently alike that
a post "strip X"  would work on the VR81?

I got as far as opening up the back & exposing the spinal cord. I think the next stage should be either
separate 2 halves of the motor shell or lift the cover off the foot but after removing all visible screws
they wont come.  Please any advice?
