DC41 problem
« on: October 14, 2023, 05:24:15 pm »
I've replaced the COV hose on my DC41. Having done that I've reassembled the whole thing but I can't get the change-over to work. It seems very stiff and the hose doesn't connect to the cleaning head hose and the mechanism just clicks and moves the hose end to a neutral position. I watched the YouTube video posted by richardsvacuumcenter.com but just can't see what I've got wrong. Any assistance would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Slow progress on my COV problem. I put the original hose back in and it operates as it should. So it seems that there's a problem with the fit of the hose that I bought online from eSpares. The original COV had the number A1 T102557 moulded on it and the replacement B2 T104772. The replacement has a part number of 966428-01 on the bag it came in. The original is 12cm long when gently straightened out and the replacement is 14cm.

Can anyone tell me if these two are really identical? I spent an hour on the Dyson chat service but my problem wasn't something that they would help with.

Thanks for any guidance.

Yes, it's that one. I bought another from you guys and it is much less stiff than the one from eSpares. The DC41 now vacuums reasonably well though the COV hose still doesn't align perfectly with the pipe used for the cleaning head.
