I've just fitted a new motor in a DC33 and the suction is excellent. But for some reason, when using it reclined, the performance is average. I was wondering if the internal hose could be soaked in hot water or replaced.

Look at the brushroll housing that the hose connects to, when reclined, does the back of it not make contact with the floor?

It does make contact, but it feels a bit weak when reclined.

If you think it has weakened over time, and they do, they are cheap enough. Ours are >>here<<.

I heard putting them in hot water fixes them. I don't know if it'd help?

I've tried it and it seems the same, so a new one is needed. I have ordered a genuine one. So hopefully, should make a massive change to it.

So I've done another investigation. Turns out that the internal hose wasn't the issue. Rather it was the brushbar housing seal rope that was missing. No wonder the suction wasn't the best.
