Hi all I've had second hand dyson dc75 for my uni house the past while it would have a rasping noise on start up that would go away and the wand suction had become weak.
At the head it worked perfectly albeit it was getting a bit hot but I thought that was down to the dust build up in canister which was emptied after each use (the building walls are getting removed due to unsafe fire proofing and the amount of dust coming in everyday is unbelievable)
Recently I went to use it and it switched off there was noticeable burning smell coming from the ball. When it's now turned on only the brush motor on the head will work.
I have taken it apart and have no blockages , I've discovered it has two hepa filters each side and god know how old they are they don't look bad but I'm guessing that's the only possible cause ?
If there is power going to the head still would this mean the capacitor and thermal cut out is good and the motor itself has failed ?
I'm waiting on a multimeter to arrive , has anyone had issues with the DC75 before ?
