The obvious fault was with the motor,I ordered a replacement it arrived on Monday (excellent service).Readings on both motors read the same approx 7ohms,the only conclusion appeared to be the thermal cutout, the motor when bench tested was reading over 50C, normal working temperature seems to be 35C.As the windings, armature, and brushes where clean and free from burning, could the terminal leads complete with the capacitor and cutout be sold as a separate piece of kit, this would save the cost of a fitting a new motor and for a few pounds could bench run for temperature overload.
