DC01 - Low suction through tube
« on: June 13, 2012, 06:33:49 pm »
I m in need of a bit of help please. We have a Dyson DC01 found in the father in laws loft over the weekend. All works well for suction on the main part of the machine except for the wand. There is a small bit of suction but not very much. I have checked to make sure there are no blockages in the pipes, and the rubber flaps at the bottom (the inspection doors) are in place. The doors are quite supple and are not parallel to the machine but i would have thought the suction would not work at all if they were at fault  The wand valve seal appears to be in place  i can see the edge of the black rubber but we have not taken the machine apart to look. There dont appear to be any cracks in the wand itself.

Any help much appreciated

We suggest removing the base plate, reclining the head and there is a typical blockage point that is between the base plate and the inspection flaps that would cause the symptoms you describe.
