Our Guarantee
The Plain English Version
Our reputation is important to us. If something we’re responsible for goes wrong with your Dyson or Sebo vacuum cleaner, we’ll put it right quickly and without drama.
We don’t build and sell machines with the intent of having to repair them again later – we do our utmost to get it right the first time.
All warranty claims are run through a common-sense filter. If the problem is straightforward, we’ll resolve it in the simplest way – sometimes that means advice over the phone, sometimes sending a part, sometimes having the machine back for repair.
How Long is My Guarantee?
- Brand new Dyson products – Dyson will honour their guarantee. Contact them on 0800 298 0298 (UK).
- Brand new Sebo products – Sebo will honour their guarantee. Full details are on our Sebo Shop guarantee page: Sebo Shop Guarantee.
- Refurbished Dyson or Sebo machines – 3, 6, or 12 months, depending on the product and where you purchased it.
- Clearance / end-of-line / platform specials (eBay, etc.) – May carry zero guarantee; the listing will always state what applies.
- Spare parts – New spares are normally covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Used parts are “fit for purpose” when supplied. Consumables (bags, belts, hoses, filters, flexes/power cords, brushrolls, etc.) are not covered.
- Motors – AC motors: 3 months when sold online, 12 months if fitted by us. DC motors: non-returnable.
What is Covered
- Repair or replacement if the vacuum is found defective due to faulty materials, workmanship, or function within the guarantee period.
- Repair vs replacement is at our discretion.
What is Not Covered
- Normal wear and tear.
- Consumables (bags, belts, hoses, filters, flexes/power cords, brushrolls, etc.).
- Accidental damage, negligence, misuse, vandalism, neglect, liquid ingress, or abnormal use.
- Blocked filters – Dysons cut out when blocked (safety feature). Always check and wash your filters before contacting us, especially after building work (plaster dust).
- Machines used commercially that weren’t designed for it (e.g. Dyson vacuums).
- Any machine that has sucked up water or liquid (guarantee void).
- Parts abused during fitting (e.g. hammers used on motor shafts).
Return-to-Base Warranty (refurbished machines, spares)
- You pay carriage both ways.
- Exception: faults within 7 days of receipt (UK mainland only) – we pay carriage both ways.
- Always phone first – most “warranty claims” are blockages, filter issues or brushbars cutting out, which can be solved at home.
- We may ask you to send only part of the machine to reduce shipping cost.
- If practical, we may just send you a part to fit yourself.
Terms and Conditions
- Guarantee starts from the purchase date (or delivery date if later).
- Proof of purchase required (receipt or transaction record is enough).
- All work carried out by Manchester Vacs unless otherwise agreed.
- Repairs or replacements don’t extend the guarantee period.
